Dominican vocations prayer initiative now in Limerick

The icon of Saint Dominic in Saint Saviour's Dominican church, Limerick.

Our ongoing prayer initiative for vocations to the Dominican way of life recently moved to the Dominican church in Glentworth Street in Limerick city. Using the specially commissioned icon of Saint Dominic as the focus of prayer for this initiative, the prayer campaign is now eighteen months 'on the road' calling to all the Dominican churches and centres throughout Ireland.

The prayer initiative allows the vocations director of the Irish Dominican friars to speak at all Masses on the weekend of the launch in each location about the Dominican vocation, but more especially to broaden the base of the numbers of people actively praying for vocations to all the branches of the Dominican family in Ireland.

The icon will remain in Limerick for the month of June before proceeding to our church in the Claddagh, Galway on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of July.

Irish Dominican Vocations was pleased to hear recently that the Polish Dominican friars have recently launched a similar prayer initiative in their country based on the model employed by the Dominicans in Ireland.
